Holiday Greetings

We are so happy to introduce our holiday Greeting cards. In fact, we have been waiting for the holiday season to get here since July. I love sending and receiving holiday cards. With social media and text messaging being a big part of how we communicate, receiving a handwritten note brings a priceless sentiment into gift giving. These Christmas greetings are created with a child-like wonder of blankets of snow, brightly lit trimmed trees, and family feasts. We recollect watching Christmas movies, making lists and checking them twice and not being able to sleep out of sheer excitement on Christmas eve. We hope for each of you this holiday season you have a sense of home and happiness and  you are surrounded by people who love you. You can find our holiday greeting cards in the shop now!

No Shave November

We are happy to introduce beard balm to our Body collection just in time for no shave November. As we slip into the season for gratitude and giving, we are mindful of all of the people and things that have brought us to where we are today. We are grateful for our abilities and opportunities. Ryan and I worked together to find the perfect blend of essential oils together to make a beard balm that was both fragrant and functional. We wanted to create a product free from chemicals & harsh fragrances. So we did. We used all natural beeswax, organic coconut oil and a blend of essential oils and tea tree oils to provide a calming, moisturizing and anti-inflammatory/anti-fungal property. It’s earthy, woodsy aroma will leave you feeling refreshed all day long.  Some kind of Nature thing Beard Balm comes conveniently packaged in a 1 ounce (a little goes a long way)  aluminium tin with sliding lid- perfect for home use or travel.  We even designed and prepared the labels ourselves making it, as always, 100% handmade. Enjoy!

Happy Place in a Box

nature box

“Happy Place in a Box” Repurposed Cigar box & Watercolor project from the weekend.

There are some days at the office when I need to escape into Nature and feed my creative spirit. I created this from an old cigar box to sit on my desk and take me to that quiet space in Nature where my spirit is alive and free.

“Rush” Gouache & watercolor

What inspires us to be creative? For me, it’s a variety of things. Nature, music, like minded spirits… I notice colors and textures in the trees or ripples in the flow of the river and the shapes the waves take and an idea for a project is born. Some artists use prompting with words or photos. I have found it is important to allow creativity to lead you. It’s when I find myself over thinking and rushing that I reach a wall in a project. This painting came while vacationing in Florida’s beautiful Amelia Island. I used gouache and watercolor on a cotton blend canvas. It was a free flowing project, I put less focus on the technique and focused more on color blending. As fall turns Into winter and the temperatures turn into freezing, I find myself daydreaming of summer and the Sea.

“Warm” Original Watercolor print

As thanksgiving comes to an end we are thinking of things that make us thankful and good memories of years past. Things that come to mind are family and friends, the people we love the most. I am grateful for ability and the ideas that are born when I let go and allow my creative mind to take over. We traveled today to see family in the snow and while it was lovely, I couldn’t help but miss the sunshine.
